Renovation Plans

The Minburn Community Betterment Group is working to relocate and renovate the M&StL Depot

The MCBG Preservation Committee's regularly scheduled meeting is the second Thursday at 7:00 PM at the Heartland Coop basement meeting room.

Initiatives include:

  • Create a space for a railroad and local area museum,  expanded library, and a retail outlet for drinks and limited food.
  • We currently have a $366,531 grant from the Iowa Department of Transportation and have applied for another $96,000 from the Vision Iowa Board.
  • Considering a $25,000 grant from Prairie Meadows later this year.
