Minburn 4th of July Celebration

The Minburn July 4th Committee thanks all of the volunteers and sponsors of the 2008 celebration, "Nascar on Parade." Raffle and pie contest results can be found here.

Many thanks to the Minburn Volunteer Fire Department and the American Legion for the wonderful fireworks display.

God bless Lorna Charlet; she is missed and will be remembered forever. Memorials in her name sponsor the July 4 event, the Best in Parade Prize and Bingo games.

Library announces new grant

The Minburn Library has been awarded a grant from the Libri Foundation and recently received $1050 worth of books for children from pre-school through high school. Come in and take a look at all the beautiful new books! Many thanks to the Libri Foundation!

Calendar Contest 2009

Many wonderful photos were submitted for the contest. Judging is complete, and a slideshow of the winners is posted on the Files page, as is a pdf listing of winners and judges (click here). Winning entries will be included in the 2009 Minburn calendar, to be published Fall 2008. Non-winning photos will be used to produce greeting cards and will be returned only if requested; email meetme@minburn.org.

Recreation in Minburn at Meek Park

The Big Heart Skating Rink is now open Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays from 7 to 9 pm.

Horseshoe League meets on Thursdays at 6:30 pm by the water tower. Everyone is welcome to join the fun. With handicaps figured into the scoring everyone can compete in this fun sport.

Minburn Emergency Fund Needs Donations

The emergency fund is to help needy people in the Minburn area. Donations may be left at Raccoon Valley Bank in Minburn.

Minburn/Central Dallas School Items Needed!

We are asking anyone who attended Minburn High School or Central Dallas High School to consider donating school memorabilia to the Minburn/Central Dallas room currently being renovated at the Washington Township School. Items needed for permanent display include class photos, school uniforms, prizes, official reports, letters, yearbooks and any other memories that alumni of these schools may want to share. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated by all and by future generations. Please contact 677-2441 for further information.
